We always come back there eager to find more: the very beautiful Fondation Custodia knows the art to present bold exhibitions dedicated to graphic arts. Its latest event confirms it: The Pushkin Museum, Five Hundred Years of Master Drawings brings together an exceptional selection of works of art from the Pushkin Museum (Moscow, Russia) drawing collection.
It’s the very first retrospective in France about these collections. We discover drawings from European and Russian schools dating back from the 15th to the 20th centuries. Meaning a bit more than 200 works drew by giants such as Dürer, Véronèse, Rubens, Fragonard, Tiepolo, Caspar David Friedrich, Kandinsky, Picasso, Matisse, Modigliani, Chagall, Renoir, Degas, Toulouse-Lautrec and Van Gogh…!
In other words, genuine “treasures” as Fondation Custodia chairman Ger Luijten underlines, on which we focus for a while to observe the finesse of artists’ work. Graphic art are particular since at first sight, they seem more intimate, more secret hence our astounded contemplation… So, we will gladly come with our family to discover this exhibition in order to show to the youngest works that are different from those already see at the Louvre or the Musée d’Orsay, neighbors of the Fondation.
