Les Extatiques, the free contemporary open-air exhibition, is heading for the Ïle des Arts this year. From September 21 to November 21, the spot is transformed into a free artistic promenade combining contemporary art and live performance.

After taking over the basement of La Défense last February, Les Extatiques are now taking over the Île Seguin to offer us a free open-air exhibition, from September 21 to November 21, 2024. A blend of contemporary art, circus and street art, this event transforms La Seine Musicale into a meeting place for the visual arts and live performances, accessible to all.

This year, Les Extatiques plunges the Île Seguin into a unique artistic universe, where you can admire contemporary works while enjoying circus performances. This free festival invites us to head for the Île des Arts, a space transformed by street-art installations, sculptures and open-air performances. The event is part of the cultural approach of the Hauts-de-Seine department, which, with La Seine Musicale, is positioning itself as a key player in contemporary art in the Paris region.

The inauguration, which coincides with the European Heritage Days, will take place on September 21, 2024, and will feature a variety of activities for young and old alike. Highlights include an original show created by artists from Le Plus Petit Cirque du Monde, as well as circus performances scattered along the route. Each installation will feature a unique interpretation, allowing visitors to rediscover perennial works such as Caesar's famous "Thumb", which will be the starting point for shows at 2pm and 4pm.

On the façade of La Seine Musicale, Stoul, a leading figure in contemporary street-art, will present a monumental fresco on the theme of dragons. With its geometric motifs and bright colors, his work promises to breathe new life into the architecture of the venue.

And that's not the only surprise this year. Inside, the Grande rue will host a brand-new exhibition by the Fonds départemental d'art contemporain. Artists such as Amine Habki and Golnaz Payani, who took part in the Salon de Montrouge, will be exhibiting their work, while artistic videos will be shown at Seinelab and the Pavillon des Projets.

Street art will also be in the spotlight, with a participatory mural by the Ne rougissez pas! collective. Designed for children, this collaborative fresco, created with stickers and felt-tip pens, will allow them to give free rein to their imagination and add their own touch to this collective creation.

The exhibition is not limited to static works. Alice Louradour, winner of the Emerige Revelations program, will be taking over the Grande rue with her colorful, interactive installations. Inspired by urban construction sites, she invites us to rediscover everyday places from a playful, poetic angle. Other artists, such as the duo Antonin Hako and Salim Santa Lucia, offer an immersive experience with their Motorama 360 project, where painting and photography intermingle to capture urban landscapes.

Finally, for those curious to learn more about the history of the Seguin Island and its industrial heritage, guided tours are organized from the Pavillon des Projets. These interactive tours, enhanced by models and thematic islands, reveal the island's transformations over the centuries.

Join us onÎle Seguin, from September 21 to November 21, 2024, for an open-air immersion in contemporary art, where you can admire monumental works, take part in collective frescoes, and be surprised by spectacular performances. In short, Les Extatiques transforms La Seine Musicale into an open-air stage, where art comes to life before our very eyes, in a magical setting.
