In collaboration with the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, theAquarium de Paris presents an exhibition dedicated to the most beautiful marine reef landscapes on the country's east coast, as part of the Australia Now event, which celebrates Australian culture in Paris in 2021. Entitled Australia: Journey to the Heart of the Reefs, the exhibition runs from June 28 to August 29, 2021 and features a unique panoramic photographic installation, revealing all that makes Australia's seabed so beautiful.
And with good reason: the Great Barrier Re ef is perhaps one of the world's most exceptional sites, stretching 2,300 kilometers from Bundaberg to the tip of the Cape York Peninsula and covering an area of 344,400 km2. Visible from space, it is the world's largest living biogenic structure.
Through lectures and the screening of documentaries, the exhibition aims to raise visitors' awareness of the different seabed management measures put in place for the long-term protection of these ecosystems, which are essential to the balance of underwater life. In addition to this exhibition, theAquarium de Paris is also committed to reef conservation, organizing coral breeding programs in specially designed closed circuits. In all, 700 coral colonies and the ecosystems they build are housed within the Aquarium.
It's a great way to raise awareness of the need to protect ecosystems, and to enjoy a spectacular show.
