He's been your after-school companion for years: Goldorak, the space robot, is almost 50 years old! A long life that has marked a whole generation. The cartoon character invites us to (re)discover his famous epic, through a free exhibition presented from April 5 to 28, 2024 at the 9th arrondissement town hall. Take a trip back to childhood as you wander the aisles of the Goldorak Xperienz exhibition.
Immerse yourself in the colorful, retro world of the Goldorak animated series, a pop culture icon and Proust's dream for many generations of grown-up children.
This nostalgic exhibition features the series' mythical locations, toys, posters, records and other merchandise. It's also an opportunity to rediscover the cartoon's themes through adult eyes. Fear of nuclear power, preservation of the environment, the fighter's code of honor... It's a chance for you to see what memories you have of the series that lulled your childhood.
The course is divided into four zones, whose names will be familiar to you: the White Birch Ranch, the Black Moon Camp, the Research Center and Planet Euphor. Each area deals with a specific subject, from the creation of the series to the place it still occupies in contemporary culture.
We discover the genesis of this animated series, and how it was created in Japan. We can admire original drawings, production elements, celluloid (transparent sheet on which animators hand-paint the moving elements of the cartoon)... Then there's a look at how Goldorak came to France and how it was received by the public, thanks to numerous products dating from the 1970s and 1980s.
