The Palais Galliera is a genuine ode to the Parisian art de vivre. And for good reason, if there is one thing that makes the fame of Paris is the title as capital of fashion. And obviously, a museum dedicate to the art of couture was to make Parisians and tourists discover this know-how.
At first, the Palais Galliera used to open for temporary exhibitions only. Yet, two years of renovations enabled the fashion museum to be thought over to welcome new exhibition areas. This is how passionate can now discover galleries devoted to the permanent collections starting from October 2, 2021.
To mark the occasion, the Palais Galliera starts this new chapter of its life with a fantastic exhibition. Called “Une histoire de la mode. Collectionner, exposer au Palais Galliera” – A story of Fashion. Collecting, exhibiting at the Palais Galliera – this display unveils both the story of the museum, and the evolution of style. The route focus on the chronology and a theme and enables us to get the hang of trends through historic pieces and pieces by contemporary designers.
In all, 350 pieces (clothing, accessories, graphic and photographic arts) expect you in this display likely to be compelling! As a bonus? Works displayed all along the exhibition are renewed, which is the perfect excuse to come back. The first display is up until March 13, 2022, and the second one is to be discovered from April 2, 2022.
