While you wait for theParis Book Festival, discover the African Book Festival, from March 15 to 17, 2024, at the Town Hall in the 6th arrondissement of Paris. For the third time, this is an opportunity to celebrate and discover, free of charge, the wealth of African literature and its authors, on the theme of"decompartmentalizing imaginations, rethinking futures".
More than sixty publishers and nearly 200 authors are expected to take part. A children's area dedicated to children's literature, comics and educational books awaits the youngest visitors, with writing workshops and fun activities. Visitors will also be able to attend conferences and performances, including slam poetry and fashion shows, as well as art exhibitions. While the Salon du livre africain offers an opportunity to find French-language works from Africa, it is above all the 1,800 languages spoken in the 54 countries of the African continent that will be in the spotlight.
A true presentation of African cultural heritage and diversity, with a special focus on Côte d'Ivoire, this year's guest of honor. There's plenty to learn about African literature, from the many authors who have published works on this continent in the throes of metamorphosis, whatever their nationality.
