Described as one of the most impressive gold and silver collections ever exhibited, this major exhibition highlights the achievements of ancient Peruvian civilizations through a selection of 192 artefacts. Thanks to a highly successful immersive scenography (videos, light effects, sound and music...), we discover representations of divinities, mythological beings and sacred stories materialized through remarkable archaeological pieces (ceramics of astonishing realism, textiles, crockery, goldsmith's jewelry...).

This unique installation is also an opportunity to meet the mythological hero of the Mochicas, Ai Apaec. His face is depicted on a copper funerary mask with feline fangs in shell. Chills guaranteed!

The"Machu Picchu and the Treasures of Peru" exhibition also reveals many other treasures, such as a ceramic vessel with a stirrup handle, the only one of its kind in the world. These ceramics accurately tell the story of the Mochica Sacrifice Ceremony. Nearby, we admire an Andean " dragon " in black ceramic inlaid with fine turquoise stones and shells, evoking the transformation of a shaman into a powerful hybrid being.

The visit continues with the ritual of the Deer Hunt, narrated in a brief cartoon-style animation projected on a wall from an illustration painted on Mochica ceramics.

In the penultimate gallery, visitors can admire dozens ofprecious objects and jewels from royal tombs, once belonging to noble pre-Inca lords. The installation reveals no fewer than ten lords dressed in gold and silver crowns, pectorals, bracelets, ear and nose ornaments - objects that bear unmistakable witness to the original skills of ancient Peruvian silversmiths.

Featuring no fewer than 9 different galleries, the " Machu Picchu and the Treasures of Peru " exhibition offers a totally unique journey through the history and natural riches of one of the most fascinating cradles of civilization.

And to give visitors the ultimate in total immersion, the"Machu Picchu and the Treasures of Peru" exhibition invites them to complete their journey by discovering the very first Machu Picchu expedition in virtual reality.
