Ready for a literal and figurative plunge into contemporary art? Head for Fluctuart, the urban art center located under the Pont des Invalides, to discover the latest exhibition of the establishment, Plongée en eaux troubles, quand l'homme entre en Seine, from April 7 to June 17, 2022. The exhibition brings together 11 artists from theurban art world, taking visitors"on an initiatory voyage through original works created in situ, dedicated to the aquatic fauna of the Seine".
Catfish, eels, perch, pike and other goldfish punctuate the exhibition route, alongside their mythological avatars, such as mermaids, newts and other hybrid monsters. Plongée en eaux troubles also aims to raise visitors' awareness of the need to safeguard the ecosystem, which is"disrupted" when"man sets his sights on the waters of the Seine" and"appropriates its resources as much as he dumps his surplus into it", as exhibition curator Cyrille Gouyette explains.
This exhibition also forms a diptych with another, Incursions sauvages, held at the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature, which mirrors the latter, offering a variety of animal scenes and raising the question of"the cohabitation of humans with the wild world in the urban environment". On the artist side, urban art fans will find works byAndrea Ravo Mattoni, ARDIF, Bault, Loraine Motti, Matthieu Dagorn, Nadège Dauvergne, Nevercrew, Olivia de Bona, SCAF, Veks van Hillik and WAR! All you have to do is turn up!
