Maison Chaumet’s Botanical exhibition is up at the Beaux-Arts de Paris

Do you like botanic and intricate pieces of work? Well, then, head to the Beaux-Arts de Paris from June 16 to September 4, 2022, to discover the gorgeous exhibition by Maison Chaumet.

Covering two stories, this exhibition unveils different rooms and ambiances. Created like a human-sized herbarium, go and discover Maison Chaumet’s inspiration that is nothing but nature.

Roam around the different “universes-landscapes” covered in 400 exceptional pieces, from all ages, including 80 haute joaillerie pieces from the Chaumet archives.

An emotional and instructive journey in a cave, forest, foreshore, reed bed, ageratum, hortus, thousands of flowers, enjoying scientific pieces, drawings, paintings, sculptures, ceramics, fabrics, photographs, decorative art items or furniture.

Discover then the formidable associations of scientific gems very rarely displayed with pieces speaking of the same species studied (iris, thistle, wheat, nasturtium…). Drawings by Joseph de Jussieu and the herbarium by Paul Hermann rub shoulders with paintings by Gustave Courbet, Eugène Delacroix, Claude Monet alongside a bronze of Sarah Bernhardt or photographs by Robert Mapplethorpe.

A botanical tour also “set” with Chaumet’s jewelry pieces (or from special collections), and even a Christian Dior gown embroidered with lily of the valley!

In the last universe-landscape are exhibited “Le Printemps” (Spring) and “L’Ete” (Summer), two paintings by Arcimboldo featuring different plant species exhibited in the display, and the only pieces depicting humans.

And exceptional exhibition perfected by several contemporary artists such as Eva Jospin or Theo Mercier, as well as Swiss Zimoun and his “sound sculpture” playing sounds of Nature, and Laurence Equilbey and her “sound moments” inspired by different environments.

All this artistic flora comes among others the National Museum of Natural History, the Musée d’Orsay, the Louvre, the Institut de France, the Victoria & Albert Museum…
