For the second time, the Korean Cultural Center is calling on the great creative diversity of NFT to present virtual works inspired by the avant-garde atmosphere of Busan. In parallel with the exhibition "Frétillante Busan, le monde à portée de flots", an NFT section, paying tribute to the technological advances of Korea's second largest city, takes over the first floor of the Centre.
A whole collection of virtual works, the fruit of the labors of eight French, Korean and American artists, offers visitors a window onto the future of art, thanks to the prowess of artificial intelligence and the creative force of each artist, while blending Busan's past and present.
A fresh art event, in every sense of the word!
Bosul Kim fuses art and technology to extract the symbolism of the encounter between man and nature, uniting them in a virtual ocean space. Using artificial intelligence, she creates a new ecosystem in which humans, animals and plants coexist.
Ivona Tau is a Lithuanian-born artist interested in art and artificial intelligence, and in particular in the emotions aroused by the fusion of these two fields. Using mediums such as experimental photography and painting, Tau presents works that blend Busan's urban and seascapes.
For June K, artificial intelligence is materialized by 3D architectures symbolizing the invisible human relationships created via social networks. Using the symbolism of the red thread, the artist refers to the ancient Asian belief that those destined to meet are linked by a red bond. A native of Busan, June K. creates works that draw on both childhood memories and ancient beliefs.
HyeGyung Kim creates works with multiple reading levels (known as "omnidirectional"), reinterpreting tradition with the help of new technologies. She focuses in particular on the notion of gilsang, good fortune, which gives symbolic meaning to objects linked to well-being, prosperity and the longevity of future generations. His new use of images of Busan's main temples thus acts as a wish for full happiness addressed to visitors.
CS Lim or Lim ChaeSeok belongs to the first generation of artists to use artificial intelligence. Using this technology, he creates a new world based on the technique of creative coding. Through his work, visible in the metaverse, visitors can contemplate an alternative, never-before-seen vision of Busan.
Sasha Stiles is a Kalmyki-American poet at the forefront of generative literature and language art. She doesn't hesitate to mix poetry, art, coding, artificial intelligence, digital humanities and web 3 to explore the nature of beings in the post-human age. Here, she reinterprets Busan through images of the Bosu-dong bookseller district.
French artist Booyasan's artistic philosophy is rooted in the combination of tradition and modernity. Although inspired by classical sculptures and paintings, the artist works with modern technologies such as 3D, voxel and various artificial intelligence tools. By blending the old and the new, the traditional and the digital, he creates a unique artistic world that is both familiar and reinvented.
A producer of electronic music, Agoria has also been active in the visual arts for several years. Combining art, music and science in his work, he collaborates with renowned biologists, neuroscientists and philosophers. The waves of the sea around Busan were the inspiration for this NFT exhibition.
