This year, the Korean Cultural Center is putting the port city of Busan in the spotlight, on the occasion of its candidacy for the 2030 Universal Exposition. For the summer of 2023, visit this exceptional marine city through an immersive exhibition, between tradition and contemporary, from May 30 to September 16, 2023. Enjoy a few hours of change of scenery in a historical Busan, traveling from the past to the present.
A real trip to Korea awaits you in a reproduction of this city of incredible economic and cultural wealth, to be discovered through cinema, art, music and gastronomy. First, we explore theevolution of the city and its identity through the ages, thanks to sound documents, objects and visuals, right in the heart of a buzzing atmosphere. The port of Busan, a true portal to the world, will allow us to discuss the Japanese colonization, the war and the foreign influences that have grown up in the city.
It isalso an opportunity to discover Korean artistic disciplines, inspired by the city's hustle and bustle, a rallying point forartists and cultural trends from elsewhere . Throughout the exhibition, workshops and lectures will be offered to immerse you in Korean culture from all angles. There will be a collection ofvirtual works, video mapping projections, as well asa retro pop up café, in a Korean coffee shop atmosphere of the 80s .
An exceptional cultural program is planned, with a film club that puts Busan in the spotlight during the screenings of three films that take place in the Korean city, a street food market toimmerse yourselfin the culinary culture with gourmet specialties typical of the Southeast of theKoreanpeninsula , or a traditional dance show.
