To mark the fiftieth anniversary of the death of artistic icon Pablo Picasso, the Centre Pompidou, in partnership with the Musée national Picasso-Paris, is hosting an extraordinary exhibition from October 18, 2023 to January 15, 2024. Entitled Picasso. Dessiner à l'infini, this unprecedented retrospective plunges visitors into the heart of the master's creative process, through the presentation of around a thousand of his works, including notebooks, drawings and engravings.
Drawing, Picasso's area of constantly renewed invention, takes center stage. By browsing through this vast collection, art lovers will have the opportunity to discover the evolution of his graphic work, a veritable introspection illustrating his initial studies right through to his final pieces. These drawings, often compared to a diary, offer a glimpse into his boundless passion and artistic genius. By adopting a non-linear approach, the exhibition creates a unique dynamic, juxtaposing and creating dialogues between different periods of his life, from world-famous works to creations unveiled for the very first time.
Picasso. Dessiner à l'infini is a profound and moving immersion in Picasso's creative whirlwind. Billed as the largest retrospective of Picasso's drawings and prints ever staged, it promises an enriching and memorable experience for all art lovers and enthusiasts of the artist's work. A must-see this winter, without a doubt!
