From October 17 to 19, 2023, an unusual and, to say the least, unexpected event is coming to Paris: the very first free exhibition dedicated to ugly furniture! Behind this offbeat initiative is LUFE, the Spanish manufacturer nicknamed theBasqueIkea, determined to celebrate the raw beauty of natural wood, even with its minor flaws, while encouraging responsible consumption. Visit Galerie Paris Horizon in the Marais district of Paris to discover this decorative UFO.
After conquering Spain since its launch in February 2023, LUFE moves to its new Paris pop-up in October. For 3 days, the brand will be exhibiting a series of pieces of furniture returned by disgruntled customers, convinced that they contain imperfections. These so-called "flaws", veins and knots due to the nature of the wood, are in fact the elements that give all their charm to the natural beauty of the material, proving that aesthetics is a matter of personal point of view.
The LUFE concept is simple: for just one symbolic euro, you can try your hand at buying one of these ugly pieces of furniture which, despite their appearance, serve their purpose perfectly. It's an opportunity to give your home a makeover with authentic pieces, while doing your B.A.! To do so, visit the pop-up or the website to register for the draw, which will take place this Friday, October 20, 2023!
Much more than an ugly furniture store, this is a genuine ecological initiative, transforming our vision of imperfect furniture into symbols of natural beauty. It's an opportunity for Parisians to reveal the beauty hidden behind unloved furniture, at a lower cost, while taking part in an initiative that promotes environmentally-friendly consumption.
