An event not to be missed during Paris+? A house designed by Jean Prouvé in the Jardin des Tuileries, certainly one of the fair's most unusual sites! From October 17 to November 6, 2023, the house will be open to the public on free tours, alongside a selection of rare design pieces.

This construction will take root in the Jardin des Tuileries, as part of the "La Cinquième Saison" exhibition, which explores the different facets of habitat, while questioning the relationship between man and nature. The BBC demountable house was designed in 1941 by visionary designers Jean Prouvé and Pierre Jeanneret, and produced in a handful of examples until 1943. Lightweight and made entirely of wood, the building was easily dismantled even in the midst of the turmoil of the Second World War.

A true architectural feat for its time, it was based on Jean Prouvé's axial portico construction principle, but also on earlier housing research with Le Corbusier. The two geniuses revolutionized the concept of the "house" by making it more mobile.
