Hôtel de Ville presents its exceptional exhibition until October 19, 2024. "Paris! The capital presents itself to the world" is the name of this exhibition, which tells us more about the city, whether you're a Parisian, a resident of the Ile-de-France or a tourist just passing through.
The "Paris!" exhibition tells the story of the capital's last ten years. Through giant portraits by Marguerite Bornhauser on "Who are the Parisians?", an immersion into Paris by bike, street-art and a life-size school street, Paris reveals itself. We travel along the Seine, discovering heritage and cultural landmarks, and a multitude of the city's secrets, all presented in a fun and educational way.
Did you know that one in four Parisians was born abroad, or that Louise and Gabriel have been the most popular first names over the last ten years? This family-friendly exhibition is designed to be fun and interactive. With quizzes, digital experiments and illustrated maps, young and old alike can (re)discover the city.
Here, we explore the transformations of Paris, from the Notre-Dame fire to the terrorist attacks, and see how the city has adapted to new uses while maintaining its status as a world city. The motto Fluctuat Nec Mergitur takes on its full meaning in this retrospective of the capital's challenges and triumphs.
The exhibition is free and open until Saturday, October 19, 2024. Open Monday to Wednesday from 10am to 6:30pm, Thursday from 1pm to 8pm and Friday to Saturday from 10am to 6:30pm. Please note that it is closed on Sundays and public holidays. Time-stamped tickets can be booked free of charge on the Paris City Hall website.
