Under the sun of savoir-faire: discover the Maîtres d'art exhibition at Espace Richaud

Plenty to keep you busy during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games! TheEspace Richaud in Versailles invites you to discover its latest exhibition, entitled Sous le soleil des savoir-faire, Les Maîtres d'art à Versailles, from June 19 to September 22. The exhibition, organized in partnership with theAssociation des Maîtres d'art, highlights the remarkable work of exceptional craftsmen. It's an opportunity to discover creations that combine tradition and innovation, made by craftsmen renowned for their mastery of rare and precious skills.

Theexhibition brings together 100 creations by 33 Maîtres d'art, covering a wide range of materials and techniques. Among the works on display are pieces in instrument making, floral ornamentation, lacquer, stained glass and featherwork, some the fruit of collaborations with renowned artists such as Annette Messager and Jean-Michel Othoniel. Each work is accompanied by explanatory texts and labels detailing the gestures and ancestral techniques used, while showing how these skills can integrate cutting-edge technologies.

Maîtres d'art play an essential role in the preservation and transmission of France's intangible heritage. In addition to admiring the works on display, visitors will have the opportunity to take part in discussion and mediation sessions. Three guided tours are scheduled to help visitors discover these skills in greater depth: Saturday June 29 from 10am to 11:30am, Sunday July 7 from 4:30pm to 6pm, and Sunday September 8 from 3pm to 4:30pm. To take part in these tours, registration is compulsory by e-mail to espace.richaud@versailles.fr, with a fixed fee of €9.50 per person.

An opportunity to plunge into the world of the Maîtres d'art at Versailles and discover the wealth of French know-how, preserved and passed on with passion and excellence. A true tribute, in itself, to these craftsmen who perpetuate traditions while evolving them for future generations.
