Attention contemporary art lovers! The Centre Pompidou is hosting an exhibition of the winners of the Prix Marcel Duchamp 2024, from October 2, 2024 to January 6, 2025. The prize features four contemporary artists: Abdelkader Benchamma, Gaëlle Choisne, Angela Detanico and Rafael Lain, as well as Noémie Goudal. Their works tackle cosmological themes, exploring human incomprehension in the face of global upheaval.
Among the works on display, Abdelkader Benchamma presents an installation entitled Au bord des mondes, inspired by the book by philosopher Mohamed Amer Meziane. The work, in ink, oscillates between figuration and abstraction, addressing spiritual and symbolic themes.
Gaëlle Choisne presents L'Ère du Verseau, an installation inspired by astrological concepts and reflecting on social and political realities through a variety of materials, such as cork beehives and videos.
Angela Detanico and Rafael Lain, who have been exploring sign systems for years, exhibit Flowering of Light, a poetic light projection based on cosmic phenomena.
Last but not least, Noémie Goudal presents installations that combine photography and science, notably paleoclimatology, in a reflection on the cycles of life and death, between extinction and rebirth.
Four exhibitions sure to please contemporary art lovers. All you have to do is take a look!
