The Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine pays tribute to Philippe Prost, with a retrospective exhibition highlighting the architect's career and creations. On view from October 18, 2024 to March 23, 2025.

His name may not be well known, but his achievements are: Philippe Prost is one of France's leading architects and urban planners, who has worked on the restoration and preservation of many of the country's most famous landmarks, cultural sites and monuments. He will be honored at the Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine, from October 18, 2024 to March 23, 2025, with a groundbreaking exhibition retracing his entire career.

This retrospective, entitled Philippe Prost, la mémoire vive, plunges us into the architect's creative process and working methods, and looks back at his most important projects and the challenges he faced.

The citadel at Belle-Île-en-Mer, the Briqueterie at Vitry-sur-Seine, the Hôtel de la Monnaie in Paris, the Les 26 couleurs cultural center in Bourg-lès-Valence, the international memorial at Notre-Dame-de-Lorette... Philippe Prost has worked on the enhancement and rehabilitation of numerous sites, giving a second life to forgotten buildings. The architect's work revolves around memory: the memory of places, people and regions.

Through photographs of construction sites and finished works, work documents and archives, and samples of materials and prototypes, visitors discover how Philippe Prost takes these places, which have their own history, and breathes new life into them, while meeting ecological and sustainable requirements, and adapting to the new social and economic needs of the territories.

With this exhibition, the Cité de l'Architecture plunges us into the work and thinking of this unique creator, who wants to perpetuate this collective memory linked to buildings, while offering new places to the public.

The exhibition is punctuated by the presentation of some twenty projects that marked the architect's career, to be discovered in the gallery of casts and contemporary models in the Gallery of Modern Architecture.

Don't miss this retrospective exhibition at the Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine.
