Perhaps you didn't know it, but the town of Asnières-sur-Seine, in the Hauts-de-Seine department, has a castle: the Château d'Asnières. So, on the first Sunday of every month, the town council makes it a point of honor to invite visitors to discover its heritage through guided tours or free admission.

Built in the 18th century, between 1750 and 1752, Château d'Asnières became the property of Marc-René de Paulmy de Voyer d'Argenson, the Marquis de Voyer, whose estate stretched from today's Pont de Clichy to the Pont d'Asnières, including the Marquis's immense stables, the château and numerous gardens... It wasn't until 1769 that the Marquis sold the château to pay off his debts. Since then, the château has passed from hand to hand, becoming a school for young girls (between 1913 and 1975), as well as the principal residence of the mayor of Asnières...

In 1992, the town of Asnières bought the château, before undertaking extensive renovation work: finally, the site opened to the public for the very first time in September 2006. It is one of the few châteaux in the Hauts-de-Seine department to have survived the passage of time without too much damage. You can now visit the Marquis' bedroom, the sumptuous Grand Salon with its carved woodwork, the Grey Room, the Chinese Room... Every first Sunday of the month, the town of Asnières organizes the " Dimanches du Marquis", an event designed to introduce as many people as possible to the Château.
