The Rendez-Vous aux Jardins is the cultural event not to be missed in spring. This event, which goes hand in hand with the warm weather, invites us to plunge into the heart of our green treasures by embarking on a conquest of our botanical heritage. For the occasion, in the four corners of Paris and theÎle-de-France region, parks and gardens, some of which are inaccessible to the public, offer a program of events and visits in the heart of these green settings.
On the Val d'Oise (95) side, in the commune of Wy-dit-joli-Village, in the heart of the French Vexin, lies the Musée de l'Outil and its beautiful green gardens. The museum is run by Claude and Françoise Pigeard, who over the years have collected tools and utensils from the folk arts and traditions of the Vexin region, as well as the remains of a Gallo-Roman seaside resort. Throughout the year, the Musée de l'Outil hosts workshops, tours and events. On the occasion of the Rendez-Vous aux Jardins 2024, this cultural venue invites us to discover a special program, which we unveil below.

An exhibition of cyanotypes by Aline Héau
The herbarium is a classic theme for the cyanotype process: the best-known, which is also the first book to use photography, is the Herbarium of the Seas produced by Anna Atkins in the 1840s and 1850s.
With Aline Héau, the process applied to glass takes on a whole new dimension. The fine detail that this medium allows sublimates the most common plant, or the weeds and grasses that are so precious. This type of photography combines scientific precision with artistic aesthetics. The magic of a sensitive medium or of scientific wonder.
Aline Héau's blue herbariums are photographed, meaning that the plant - a simple bud, leaf, flower or seed - is delicately placed on the photosensitized surface. Exposing the plant to natural or artificial light creates a negative image of every living cell. The transparency of the deep blue casts a shadow on the density of the color, while the prints on a silver background reflect a brilliant light in the dark flat blue.
Between elegance and simplicity, discover the plant poetry of a garden and a natural territory that is no less remarkable.
