The Fête de la nature is back to delight us all. Head for the charming village of l'Isle-Adam in the Val d'Oise to discover a whole program of free events this Saturday, May 25, 2024.
The Fête de la Nature, a not-to-be-missed event celebrating the richness of biodiversity and the beauty of France's natural spaces, is back from May 22 to 26, 2024. The event gives everyone the chance to discover local flora and fauna through fun and educational activities organized by environmental protection associations and local authorities.
Located in the Val d'Oise department, l'Isle Adam is a commune renowned for its lush green surroundings and unspoilt natural spaces. The town regularly organizes events to promote environmental awareness and encourage ecological practices.
In l'Isle Adam, the event takes place on Saturday May 25, from 10.30am to 5.30pm, in the Rosière Biodiversity Zone. Throughout the day, visitors will be able to take part in a discovery trail featuring various stands and workshops presenting the flora and fauna living in the biodiversity zone.
Numerous local biodiversity players, represented by associations and municipal services, will be on hand to provide valuable information and insight into the mosaic of habitats that populate La Rosière. The town's aim is to raise public awareness of the importance of preserving the area's natural heritage, and to promote the ecological and educational quality of the Rosière biodiversity zone.
Program for the Fête de la Nature at Isle Adam
- Discovering the flora and fauna - Association IASEF
Welcome and orientation stand on the Rosière. A questionnaire will be handed out to children at the welcome stand. Once the questionnaire has been corrected and returned, each child will receive a diploma. Presentation of the IASEF association, its activities and its ecological application in the local environment. Sale of apple juice to benefit the CPNVS and the little owls.
- Presentation of wetlands - Association IASEF
Discover the flora and fauna of local wetlands and the role of wetlands. Information display on ponds.
- Macrophotography - Association IASEF
Discover macro or nature photography, with advice on how to take photos while respecting flora and fauna. Photo exhibition.
- Hedges and biodiversity - Association IASEF
Discover the role of hedges and the flora and fauna they shelter. Presentation of bird and insect nests, and discovery of the biology of wasps and wild bees.
- Bulb distribution and gardening tips - Service des espaces verts Ville de L'Isle-Adam
Explanation by municipal gardeners of the management of the town's green spaces. Distribution for recycling of bulbs that have already been used in municipal flower beds.
- Mycology - Association IASEF
Discovery of the role of mushrooms in nature, with an exhibition of educational panels and a presentation of the mushrooms collected.
- Management of the Rosière - Conservatoire d'Espaces Naturels Île-de-France
Presentation of the management of the Rosière biodiversity zone, wetlands and reedbeds on the Isle Adam territory.
- "Le brochet roi de l'eau douce" - Pêche 95
Discovery of fish, including the pike, with an animation/demonstration of fishing in the Oise.
- Presentation of beehives - Apiculteur de ruches de la Rosière
Presentation of the beekeeping profession, the role of bees, the hive and its products. Beeswax candle-making workshop.
- Creative workshops for children - Comité des fêtes
Children can take part in nature-related creative workshops.
- Eco-pasturing at La Rosière
Explanation by farmers of how eco-pasturing works, with demonstration and contact with the animals.
- Astronomy - Association Quasar 95
Sun observation (weather permitting) and Moon and Sun exhibition. Workshop using a Sun-Earth-Moon model.
- 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm: Conference/walk
The alluvial landscapes of the La Rosière site will be presented by Marc Saussey, a volunteer with the IASEF Association. Registration on the association's website or on the day at La Rosière reception. Free for groups of 15-18 people. This walk allows you to discover the various plant formations and their composition, recognizing typical species and the alluvial dynamics of the site.
