Leaning since the Middle Ages against the chalk cliff, this ancient fortress has metamorphosed over the centuries, elegantly confronting architectural styles. From the medieval dungeon to the 18th century stables , from the first troglodytic spaces to the Potager-fruitier and the English Garden, the castle offers a real journey through time, which continues through literature.
This setting will host about twenty French and foreign authors, including several local women, who are honored, such as Nathalie Sarraute, Joan Mitchell and Betsy Jolas. During round tables, the festival will explore the political and social place, as well as the intimacy of the female gender, across time and continents. A bookstore will also be on site to buy books directly, before having them signed! Reading tours are also organized to take advantage of the castle's environment, filled with greenery.
