Between the towns of Plaisir and Poissy, the Ferme de Grignon and its 400 hectares of farmland don't go unnoticed! In the heart of the countryside, less than two hours from Paris, the site is a huge dairy and cereal farm that can be visited any day of the week.
Here, no fewer than 200 Prim'Holstein dairy cows are pampered every day. Bred for their milk, you can watch them being milked from the dairy from around 3.30 to 5 p.m., and show children (or adults) how milk is extracted on French farms. Alongside them, a flock of 600 Berrichon du Cher and Romane ewes are also raised at Ferme de Grignon, this time for breeding purposes. For private visitors, the good news is that admission is free and open to all, every day of the week, from 10am to 6pm!
What's more, you can buy the farm's products- yoghurts, butter, cream desserts, cheeses, faisselles and home-made bottled milk - in the farm's gourmet store. If you're looking for tasty, local products made close to home, you've come to the right place! A few times a year, you can also buy parcels of beef or lamb and ewe raised on site, subject to reservation. In partnership with a local beekeeper, the farm also offers jars of honey made in the Yvelines, lentils grown on site, and wool to insulate your home, protect your vegetable garden... Enough to delight you even after your visit!
