A stroll along the banks of the Marne in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés to admire the colors of autumn

From Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, embark on a hike that's within reach of your Navigo pass: in all, allow less than ten kilometers for a bucolic stroll, very accessible for non-walkers, non-athletes and children. Along the banks of the Marne, you can discover the islands of the Marne, from Saint-Maur-des-Fossés to Créteil (or, if you prefer a shorter stroll, to the Varenne-Chennevières RER A station).

With its beautiful red, gold and orange colors,autumn has something melancholy about it, with the return of cooler temperatures, shorter days and multicolored trees for a few weeks. So, to admire these pretty colors, the islands of the Marne between Créteil (metro line 8) and Saint-Maur-des-Fossés (RER A) offer a picture-postcard landscape, perfect for the season!

Starting out from Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, you'll discover the various islands along the Chemin de Halage: Île Sainte-Catherine, Île des Ravageurs, Île de la Gruyère, Île Brise-Pain, Île des Vignerons, Île d'Amour, Île Casenave... If you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of some sportsmen canoeing up the Marne. Otherwise, the scenery alone is worth the detour. A great idea for a walk in the Paris region, with family, friends or on your own this autumn!
