When the weather's nice, stand-up paddling - a relatively wide board with a single paddle and an upright position - is the perfect way to combine sport and pleasure. Along the Marne River in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, Beach Paddle offers stand-up paddle rentals for one or more hours.
Solo, two or three people can paddle from the Champigny bridge to the Chennevières bridge. If there are at least 5 of you, you can also try the Maxi Paddle, where you can all board this huge boat at the same time. Along the Marne, you'll be able to enjoy the bucolic landscapes of the banks of the Marne, which are usually best explored on foot.
Don't forget to bring sun cream, a change of clothes, a towel and a 25m swimming certificate (compulsory). If you're not a paddle enthusiast, you can also rent a canoe or kayak from Beach Paddle for this trip. Stand-up paddling is accessible to young and old alike, from 7 to 77 years of age, and can be practiced even by absolute beginners.
