The Rendez-Vous aux Jardins will be taking place all over Paris and the Île-de-France region for another edition that smells of spring. Every year, this bucolic event takes us to the crossroads of nature and culture, as we discover our botanical heritage. In the 7th arrondissement of Paris, in the heart of theHôtel des Invalides, the Musée des Plans-Reliefs joins the Rendez-Vous aux Jardins 2024. This astonishing museum, with its impressive collection of models, is sure to fascinate young and old alike. There are 28 plans-reliefs representing the whole of France, out of the hundred or so in the museum. The Musée des Plans Reliefs, a unique collection in Paris
The Musée des Plans Relief, located in the Hôtel des Invalides in Paris, houses some 100 relief plans of fortified towns. Once used for military purposes, they are now preserved in their original state at the Invalides, where you can discover these immense models of French towns. [Read more]
After a tour of the museum, the mediator accompanies the children into the educational room to create a collective plan-relief, with each child leaving with his or her own creation. The aim of this fun and creative activity is to introduce the techniques involved in creating a plan-relief and its vegetation. Paint, pencils and imagination are the order of the day!
Discover a unique collection of models of French fortified towns and their surrounding countryside, created between the reigns of Louis XIV and Napoleon III. The models represent, among other things, the vegetation of towns and gardens at 1/600 scale! A wealth of details to discover on this tour.
