June 1 and 2, 2024 are the Rendez-vous aux Jardins! A golden opportunity to rediscover the most beautiful green spaces in the Paris region, with events for young and old, including workshops, walks and guided tours in the heart of nature. And if you're looking for a breath of fresh air, head for the superb Domaine départemental de la Vallée-aux-Loups and the Maison de Chateaubriand in the Hauts-de-Seine!
Located some fifteen kilometers from the capital, the Maison de Chateaubriand was inhabited by Chateaubriand as early as 1807, when the writer chose to settle here with his wife Céleste, after a critical article on Napoleon prompted him to move away from the capital. Several owners succeeded him, including Dr. Le Savoureux, a psychiatrist and great admirer of Chateaubriand, who took great care of the estate.
This former gardener's house is surrounded by a bucolic park, home to a country-style tear oom and many remarkable trees. The turreted house, whose facades are overgrown with ivy, continues to host literary exhibitions and workshops in tribute to the writer.
