Rendez-vous aux jardins 2024 at the Chanteraines Park Farm (92)

Rendez-vous aux jardins is a national event that celebrates the wealth of green spaces in France every year. From May 31 to June 2, 2024, this event invites you to discover enchanting places, including the Parc Départemental des Chanteraines Farm, which awaits us this Saturday, June 1, 2024.

The Ferme des Chanteraines, located in the heart of the departmental park, is a haven of peace where nature and rurality are given pride of place. The site attracts several hundred visitors every day, thanks to its playful atmosphere and educational activities. Open to all, the farm pursues its mission of raising awareness of rurality, enabling everyone to flourish in contact with animals and nature. Its architecture is reminiscent of 19th-century Normandy farmhouses in the Vexin region, with a picturesque barn, henhouse, bouverie, goat house, dovecote, hutch, meadows for the animals, boxes, beehives and a dwelling.

The farm is home to around 150 animals, mainly French breeds, some of which are conserved. There's a Jersiaise cow, an Auvergne draught horse, pedigree sheep and goats, miniature pigs, rabbits, guinea pigs, and farmyard birds such as geese, hens and ducks. The dovecote is also home to some original breeds of pigeon.

The farm's organically-managed kitchen garden features a diversity of market garden and aromatic crops throughout the year, with varieties ranging from tomatoes and eggplants to cabbages and carrots. The orchard, meanwhile, features a collection of apple, pear, plum, vine and other fruit trees, grown according to environmentally-friendly practices. Harvests from the kitchen garden are sold on special days.
