For Rendez-vous aux Jardins 2024, the public is invited to the Vallée-aux-Loups estate in Châtenay-Malabry, a valley inhabited by deer, roe deer, wild boar and wolves. An ideal opportunity to spend the day in nature, surrounded by remarkable trees, thanks to a wide range of activities open to all. The 60-hectare estate boasts a rich cultural and botanical heritage, and the Arboretum, a former Croux nursery, continues the site's horticultural vocation today.
Unique plant collections of convolvulaceae, alders and hydrangeas have been added to the century-old trees. The Ile Verte garden, created by the poet Jules Barbier and home to the painter Jean Fautrier from 1945 to 1964, offers visitors a stroll in a "timeless", wild and romantic place where atmospheres blend and mingle, not far from the Maison de Chateaubriand, where the author lived from 1807 to 1817, and wrote Les Mémoires d'Outre-tombe. His passion for botany led him to introduce rare species to the park, reflecting his travels: the Cedar of Lebanon, the bald cypress...
