Once you've reached Robinson station, it's just a 20-minute walk and you're officially in Châtenay-Malabry, a quiet town in the Hauts-de-Seine department, south of Paris.
We start our walk at theArboretum de la Vallée aux Loups, a large park renowned for its century-old trees. The place's star attraction is undoubtedly the weeping blue Atlas cedar, with a fine collection of bonsai in one of the arboretum's greenhouses.
After lounging on the beautiful lawns, simply cross the road into the grounds of the Maison de Chateaubriand. This is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the life of the writer, as you discover his country house, set in a park of several hectares, which also boasts a number of remarkable trees and beautiful paths for strolling. The grounds of the Maison de Chateaubriand are located within the wooded Parc de la Vallée aux Loups, which in turn belongs to the Domaine de la Vallée-aux-Loups (which encompasses all the green spaces we're talking about in Châtenay), like a small forest in the heart of the city.
Finally, to round off a wonderful day exploring the beautiful parks of Châtenay-Malabry, head off to the Parc de l'Île verte, a romantic little garden just a stone's throw from the Arboretum. With its old manor house, pretty kitchen garden and bamboo paths, the Ile Verte garden was once the home of painter and sculptor Jean Fautrier. The highlight of the show is a tiny island surrounded by water, which you can visit. A lovely stroll to take on a sunny day, near Chatenay-Malabry!
