Horse festival at Maisons-Laffitte (78): ponies, horse-drawn carriages and free equestrian shows at the château

Ponies, horse-drawn carriage tours, equestrian shows... Maisons-Laffitte invites you to join us on Sunday, September 15, 2024 for a festive day dedicated entirely to the world of horses! The Château de Maisons is the place to be for all horse lovers, with free activities for the whole family.

In your stirrups! On Sunday September 15, 2024, Maisons-Laffitte will awaken to the rhythm of hooves for an equestrian celebration that will exalt the Yvelines. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., "Tous en piste!" will transform the Château de Maisons into a veritable playground for all lovers of horses and horse racing.

For the occasion, get ready for an avalanche offree activities: pony care and baptisms for young adventurers aged 8 and over, majestic equestrian shows and guided carriage tours for an instructive and memorable journey back in time.

Maisons-Laffitte, the famous"Cité du Cheval", has been the cradle of French equestrian history since the 17th century. With its prestigious training center and history-laden château, this event celebrates a centuries-old tradition of passion for horses.

Baptisms and pony care
From 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., and from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Families are invited to joinEpona club nature for an introduction to horseback riding.
Guided horse-drawn carriage tours
At 11am and 3pm (duration 1h)
Come aboard the Versailles horse-drawn carriages and discover the history of Maisons-Laffitte, the Château de Maisons and the northern cellars, in the company of guide-lecturers.

Equestrian shows
At 2pm, 4pm and 5:40pm (duration 20-30 min)
All day long, Récréation équestre offers three musical shows for young and old. Each show will feature different equestrian practices, performed by riders in 17th- and 18th-century costumes.

Café rencontres
3:00 pm to 3:30 pm, and 3:45 pm to 4:15 pm (ages 15 and up)
Equine connoisseurs and enthusiasts, come and meet racehorse professionals.
