Marin d'eau douce, no-licence boats for hire for a bucolic trip from Boulogne to Issy (92)

In Paris and the Île-de-France region, Marin d'eau douce was already offering rental of small boats without a license, for cruising on the Bassin de la Villette in the 19th arrondissement, in Meaux (77), Levallois-Perret (92) or in the provinces, near Strasbourg and Lille.

In Boulogne-Billancourt, head for the electric boat rental base on the quays of the Seine, then take a seat aboard one of the 5, 7, 9 or 11-person shanties: you're off for a one- to three-hour cruise along one of the banks of the Seine, from Boulogne-Billancourt to Issy-les-Moulineaux'sIle Saint-Germain, past the Seine Musicale andIle Seguin, along the banks of the Seine populated by long barges, and with a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower in the distance at the end of the trip.

In all, Marin d'eau douce offers three different routes, ranging from one to three hours:

• In 1 hour: tour of the Île Seguin
• In 2 hours: tour of Île Seguin as far as Suresnes, with view of La Défense
• In 3h: Île Seguin, Saint-Germain arm with barges, distant view of the Eiffel Tower, view of La Défense

As for picnics, customers are welcome to bring whatever they wish: please note, however, that alcohol is not sold on site, and it is forbidden to bring it on board (the team searches bags on arrival). For on-site refreshments, the base offers softs, by-products and aperitif baskets, which you can purchase when you hire the boat, if you wish.

And if you're a little apprehensive about boarding one of these electric boats, don't worry: the on-site team will give you a pre-departure briefing, with navigation instructions and explanations on how to maneuver the boat. Everyone is welcome on board, including toddlers, who count as one person when booking.

You can rent a boat for as little as €45 (1 hour, 5 people) or as much as €350 for a full day (on the largest boat, 11 people), with the option of setting up a table (€10 supplement) for a drink or snack. A deposit of €500 is required prior to rental.

Before you arrive, please note:

• the Marin d'eau douce base has no toilets: take precautions beforehand!
• alcohol is not sold on site, and it is strictly forbidden to bring it on board (the team searches bags on arrival)
• a briefing (rules of the road on the water, how to use the boat) is given by the team before you are handed the boat keys
• a deposit of €500 (bank imprint, cheque or cash) will be requested before handing over the boat keys.
