Gilles Pudlowski unveiled his new Pudlo 2017 gourmet guide at a grand soirée at the Georges V. For this 27th edition of the guide to fine dining, the culinary critic combs the capital and its suburbs, referencing a total of more than 2,500 addresses. The guide is well-stocked with new arrivals, the best value for money and the best foreign restaurants.
Gilles Pudlowski not only gives us the inside scoop on the best places to eat, but also honors some of the top names in the world of gastronomy. Yann Couvreur was voted Pastry Chef of the Year, while Anis Bouabsa, Thierry Marx and Joël Defives were jointly awarded the prize for Baker of the Year, for their respective establishments Au duc de la Chapelle and Thierry Marx, la boulangerie. David Toutain won the award for Cook of the Year. The most unusual prize undoubtedly went to Alexandre Stern, Honey Finder of the Year!
With this guide, Gilles Pudlowski celebrates the capital in all its diversity. As he says in his preface,"Don't listen to those who tell you that ' Paris is no longer Paris ' [...] Paris has never been as rich, beautiful or gourmet as it is these days." Pudlowski thus launches a fine tribute to the City of Light, while calling on us to enjoy all it has to offer.
