An institution straight out of Portugal has arrived in Paris: Portologia, the Maison des Porto. Julien Dos Santos opened the Maison des Porto in 2000, where he welcomes and advises us with a smile, based on the fact that it was impossible to find the diversity of Portuguese wines in France - despite the fact that France is the world's leading consumer of Port wines.
Part cellar, part wine bar, part tasting room, this unique venue offers a highly specialized selection of food and wine, with a particular focus on small producers. It offers a wide selection of Port and Douro wines, in a friendly, bright atmosphere - ideal for discovering the richness and subtleties of these great wines.
Vertical, horizontal and diagonal tastings are available à la carte, from 3 to 30 glasses (for multi-day masterclasses). It's an educational offer suited to neophytes and connoisseurs alike, and a fine address that shouldn't fall on deaf ears, mind you!
Fado concerts are also organized two Wednesdays a month. A good excuse, then, to enjoy these beautiful melancholy notes, while savoring a fine wine and a snack. And to book your fado evening, we suggest you visit the establishment's Facebook page and click on the link to the post concerning the next concert. Let's give in to the fado, folks?
