The most Breton and gourmet amidst you know it, but Candlemas 2018 will be held on Friday February 2.
On the occasion, many of you may head to the varied creperies in Paris to enjoy a tasty crepe as we like them.
For the record, Candlemas is the day of crepes. It’s said that this tradition comes from Pope Gelasius I who had pancakes distributed to pilgrims arriving in Rome. With their round shape and golden color reminiscent of the solar disc, pancakes refer to the return of Spring after the dark and cold Winter.
But, this famous February 2, 2018, there’s a creperie likely to stand out by giving… free sweet crepes!
This creperie is Kasha. This neo-creperie, created by young entrepreneur Alexis Auzépy, recently set up in Paris 10th arrondissement with his buckwheat pancakes and sweet crepes, without forgetting his cocktails.
For Candlemas, meet at Kasha since all sweet crepes are free for the 2 services, at lunchtime and dinnertime on February 2, 2018.
And no need to come for lunch or dinner, pop in and choose your crepe to enjoy it on the spot or to take away!
On the menu? The Beurre Salée [salted butter] from Maison Borniambuc and its muscovado sugar, the Caramel lacté au beurre salé [Milk salted butter caramel] with muscovado sugar and homemade cookie crumbs, the Ganache de butternut [Butternut ganache] and whipped cream cheese or the Poire Pochée [Poached pear] with chocolate, buckwheat seeds and whipped cream!
Isn’t life beautiful?
