The building of the restaurant Les Grandes Marches (in reference to the grand staircase leading to the forecourt of the Opéra Bastille) is not new to the Parisian landscape, dating back to the 15th century! It was in the 1990s that it acquired this pretty name, and in 2012 it was taken over by the Joulie family, already owners of numerous Parisian brasseries. Today, the famous restaurant with a magnificent view of the Bastille column offers a super all-inclusive menu for 36 euros, with aperitif, starter, main course, cheese, dessert, wine and coffee included, and no extra charge! We've tested it for you!
For starters, choose between Foie gras au naturel, 6 perles de l'Océan (oysters) and a Tomato Mozzarella Salad with Pistou Sauce:
Then for the main course: Fillet of sea bream with eggplant caviar and beurre blanc, Beef cutlet with shallot and home fries, or Duck confit with veal jus and home purée:
A fine cheese platter with Reblochon, Camembert and Sainte-Maure de Touraine:
And for dessert, if you've got room (we don't!), you can enjoy the ice cream of the month, the white chocolate Bavarois or the fromage blanc with raspberry coulis...
If, however, you prefer the à la carte menu, you'll find a wide choice awaiting you, and we recommend the Beechwood-smoked Scottish salmon :
and the Poulpebasquaise and its venerated rice:
And, of course, bon appétit!
