Is your stomach crying out and your taste buds on edge? Consider that Jackpot will have something to satisfy them, whether it's 7am, 3pm or 10:30pm. Breakfast, brunch, plank and service at all hours make the Jackpot an ultra-complete bar-resto in which you could spend all day.
Opened at the beginning of 2018, Jackpot is the second address of chef Julien Agobert, who opened his gastro resto Monjul eleven years ago. Tired of being confronted with insipid croque-monsieur and other cheese boards that look like they came straight off a supermarket shelf, Julien Agobert opened the Jackpot with a clear objective in mind: to bring good food back to the bar, to make Licence IV rhyme with great flavors.
If you're not a night owl at Jackpot, you'll come for lunch, where the menu is set at 19 euros. True to the rest of the menu, which offers only small plates (from €4.5 to €11), our lunch consists of three small savory dishes and one sweet. What's special here is thatyou can enjoy one of the savory dishes as much as you like! Le Jackpot therefore caters for big eaters and small appetites alike.
Today, as the menu changes almost daily, we're treated to a little world tour with spicy tuna maki, Lebanese-inspired eggplant labneh, squid steak with grilled leeks, and a pineapple carpaccio with ginger and mascarpone curry worthy of the West Indies. We share the latter with the second dessert of the day: an ultra-light yoghurt mousse with lemon cake cubes. Sophisticated without overdoing it, and above all, delicious!
Conquered by this first experience, we'll easily be tempted by the cocktails, happy hour from 5pm to 8pm and all kinds of planks (€18 max)... You'll have to come back to the Jackpot at aperitif time!
Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
