A newcomer to the 11th arrondissement, Coup d'Oeil is well worth a look... and a tummy! Natural wines and plates to share are enjoyed in good spirits, like an ode to good eating.

Fans of ultra-sophisticated gastronomy should move on... but lovers of good food should flock to Coup d'Oeil! Opened eight months ago byEtna alumnus and natural wine sommelier David Rougier, this new bar and bistro could well become one of the capital's hottest new spots.

Not because it's frequented by particularly posh personalities, but quite simply because it's a little gem. From the architecture of the place to the choice of crockery, pepper and seasoning, everything is thought through to the smallest detail for a surprisingly simple result.

The products, because they are good and well-chosen, are left as raw as possible to extract their full flavor. A little pepper and spring onion, a drizzle ofGreek olive oil to enhance the whole, and there you have it.

At lunchtime, you can enjoy the 14, 16 or 18€ menus, while in the evening, you're more likely to opt for plates to share (although they're also available at lunchtime!) accompanied by a glass of good wine, natural of course. Fish, charcuterie, vegetables, desserts - there's something for every taste, and, absolutely unable to choose from this tempting menu, we leave it to Dominique to decide for us.

Organic egg with divine mayonnaise (5€), Mallard duck terrine (9€), Pétrossian white tarama (8€), assorted cured meats (13€), 30-month-aged comté cheese (9€), tender Galician octopus (rare!), ultra-melting raw-milk burrata (9€)... The small plates follow one another and keep us going until we're full (expect 3 to 4 plates per person).

On the drinks front, you'll appreciate the diversity and originality of the carefully selected wines (6-7€ by the glass) and, if you feel like it, try Domaine Milan's gin with your eyes closed, a liqueur as smooth as velvet that will delight the gullets of all night owls.

In a nutshell, with its warm welcome, mouth-watering products and meticulous attention to detail, it's a no-brainer!

Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
