Looking for a delicious culinary voyage? Let's head for New Jhelum, a contemporary restaurant in the heart of Paris that invites us to sample Pakistani and Indian cuisine.

Indo-Pakistani gastronomy is a must for culinary travel enthusiasts. In winter, its generous, gourmet dishes comfort us, while on sunny days we savor it, prolonging the vacation spirit. And here's a nugget not to be missed among the good addresses to discover for a change of scenery without leaving Paris.

We take you to New Jhelum, a well-established spot in the capital's 2nd arrondissement. Located at 95 rue Richelieu, this resolutely modern restaurant offers generous, gourmet cuisine in a contemporary setting. A true standard-bearer for Indo-Pakistani gastronomy, it's a sure bet.

For starters, you can choose from an assortment of chicken Tikka, vegetable, meat or mixed Samossa, pan-fried Tarka shrimps and, of course, the famous cheese nan, prepared according to the rules of the art. Accompany all this with a lassi, the famous yoghurt drink offered here with fruit or plain, and you've got the perfect introduction to your culinary journey.

There's no wrong choice here - everything is delicious. On the other hand, we warn you: prepare your stomachs well, as the portions are generous. Fortunately, the restaurant offers a doggy-bag so you can extend your experience at home. For our part, we were tempted by the ultra-meltingShaï Korma lamb, with dried fruit adding a touch of crunch, as well as the Butter Chicken, a tandoor-grilled chicken that is the restaurant's specialty. The dish is accompanied by biriani, saffron rice and Jawad rice with dried fruit. The latter should appeal to lovers of sweet and savory dishes.

To round off this tasting experience, it's time for refined desserts. There's nothing better after such a generous meal than to end on a note of freshness! If the restaurant offers ice cream sundaes, we recommend you try Kulfi, aPakistani ice cream made with vanilla, pistachios, almonds, cashews, cardamom and a touch of rose. A wonderful discovery that makes us want to come back.

We also love Kheer, a kind of Indo-Pakistani rice pudding served with our choice of ice cream. Following New Jhelum 's advice, we chose the rose ice cream, and we weren't disappointed! Finally, we can't resist our favorite, the Gulab Jamun: a kind of ultra-soft cardamom doughnut, served in packs of 4, with vanilla ice cream. And for tea lovers, don't forget to try the potent Chaï offered here.
