Head for Meudon, just a few minutes from Paris, to discover Hangar Y, arestaurant and terrace designed by Studio Perrier. Adjacent to the Hangar Y, now a cultural venue, we discover a new building offering not only a huge dining room, but also and above all a terrace on the water's edge for a guaranteed change of scenery.
The Hangar Y restaurant is the fruit of collaboration between Urban-Act, the Perchoir group and interior designer Fanny Perrier (Studio Perrier). She imagined a dreamlike environment, blending past and present, where the restaurant is an artists' refuge set on the water. The convivial atmosphere is enhanced by architectural and decorative elements inspired by different styles and eras. Located in the Hauts-de-Seine department, this new restaurant and terrace at the gateway to Paris offers a bucolic and poetic setting, ideal for escaping the hustle and bustle of the city.
The restaurant menu is designed by Guillaume Sanchez, a Michelin-starred chef inspired by the aquatic aspect of the site. He offers a personal reinterpretation of the catering offered by Normandy's seaside establishments, with a responsible and thoughtful offering. The chef, passionate about art and creativity, cultivates a cuisine that is fair, sincere and honest, where technique serves the product.
Expect simple bistro cuisine with a twist that honors the good stuff. Like a seaside restaurant, you'll enjoy whelks, mackerel rillettes, mussels with sake, sole meunière and American-style blue lobster with fries. The menu changes with the seasons, but here's the menu we discovered when we visited in June.
The map :
We loved the Shallot Tart, the Sole meunière and its purée with fillets raised in front of you, and the warm Apple Tart with smoked vanilla ice cream.
Among the cool cocktails, we discovered the Naked & Famous, which marries Mezcal and Chartreuse, and the Better with Bitter, a non-alcoholic mocktail that will delight fans of bitterness.
Restaurant Hangar Y is open Tuesday to Sunday lunchtime from 12pm to 3pm and Tuesday to Saturday evening from 7.30pm to midnight.
In fine weather and from May onwards, the festive guinguette takes up residence in the undergrowth by the lake.
The program includes refreshments, spreads and sausages to nibble on, and barbecues planned for the weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). Chicken supreme, Basque ribeye and grilled halloumi and sausages await you.
Ideal for families, the site also boasts a huge playground in the middle of the forest, where children can play and climb on wooden structures.
As a reminder, the mythical Hangar Y, the world's first airship workshop, has reopened its doors after 40 years of closure. This new cultural venue offers a rich program of science, art and culture. Don't miss the venue's first airship exhibition! Located on the same estate, the Perchoir Y is the ideal spot for a bite to eat after a delightful visit.
Set in a magnificent natural setting, the spot invites you to take a stroll. We recommend a stroll around the lake, where you'll see some lovely monumental works of art.
So, are you ready to go green and spend some quality time with the moorhens? Head for Hangar Y!
