Guillaume Blanchot, to whom we owe the recent success of Lucky Luciano, chose to take over a former candy factory to set up his French tapas bar. Here no Italian specialties like its older brother, but a cuisine between tapas and main courses.
Inspired and creative Fabrice Mellado mixes local products and every day, he offers new creations. For example, on the menu: chickpeas with lemon purée, carrots with fennel, del Piquillo pepper stuffed with tuna, Beluga lentils and chorizo, quails with pomegranate juice, sausages with mushrooms, whelks and virgin sauces, cockles with carrots, soba, cuttlefish and favas, Lyon dry sausage with pistachio, Barley risotto with cumin-marinated feta… it depends on his mood and the daily delivery.
The house also has classics including the delicious products of Comptoir d’Itxassou from the Basque Country such as spicy pâté with Espelette pepper, duck rillettes, whole duck foie gras with Espelette pepper, Piquillos pâtés, Iberian Bellota 36-month hams, tuna battili, sardine terrine with garlic…
Those who can’t do without desserts are not left out with the rice pudding with candied orange, the semolina and apple cake, the chocolate mousse, the pistachio and milk cream…
To accompany these delightful dishes, a well-provided cellar evolving according to the boss’s findings directly from producers and highlighting natural wines. By the bottle or the glass, you don’t lack choice. A lovely opportunity to discover small wines you can’t find everywhere…
In other words, Lucien la Chance is a bistro, without fuss, with a friendly and family atmosphere where it feels good to come with friends and share many tapas but French way!
