After treating Paris very well with their home cooks called “Les Dîners d’Eloïse”, creating Palais Royal caterer and two reception rooms, choc trio Joyce Levi, Emmanuel Cotsoyannis and Gregory Areinx open Le BAT, a chef’s bar in the heart of Grands Boulevards.
In the middle of the room, the kitchen island with the chef in the center and guests around him makes the place very friendly and reminds us of the Spanish tapas bars. We look at chef Yariv Berreby, with prestigious references (Ferrandi school, Senderens, Auberge Basque, Meurice, KGB-kitchen Galerie Bis) working to offer us an instinctive and creative cuisine based on fresh and seasonal ingredients.
Le BAT is a unique cooking with two ways to do so. Contemporary canteen at lunchtime, with a clientele made of regular patrons from the surrounding offices who come to the bar or sit at the table to enjoy the shrimp ravioli with coconut-lemongrass broth, Galician beef sirloin steak, smoked potatoes or some tartares like the beef one, candied fruits with mustard seeds and aged parmesan…
At dinnertime, it’s more like a gourmet tapas bar French way, changing daily according to the chef’s mood: meagre with citrus fruits and lime-ginger dressing, coconut from Paimpol hummus, chorizo and pepper… Blends are sometimes bold but wonderfully work! We recommend the happy tapas with a tapa and a glass of wine (€8) that should whet your appetite…
The atmosphere is friendly and easy-going, the cooking is tasty and the setting delightful! A new address to test!
