Curieuse nocturne: Drag-Kings and DJ set at the Musée d'Orsay to explore masculinity of all kinds

To coincide with the Caillebotte, peindre les hommes exhibition, the Musée d'Orsay - in partnership with Rosa Bonheur - is organizing a Curieuse nocturne: for an entire evening, visitors can enjoy a range of original shows and activities on the theme Masculin en tous genres.

This Thursday, December 5, 2024, the various forms of masculinity are explored, celebrated and questioned, through several highlights. In the various spaces of the Musée d'Orsay, performances and artists explore what it means to be masculine in the 21st century. These representations enter into dialogue with the works of Caillebotte, who observed and painted the men of his time.

  Inspiring encounter with Félix Auvard
  Contradictory injunctions, climate anxieties, economic insecurity, political commitment... How do you manage your existential crisis in this world when you're a 26-year-old man? Discover the world of this new-generation comic artist.

  DJ set with Rosa Bonheur

  Drag-Kings performance
  A festive, committed performance by artists from the French cabaret Kings Factory, dressed by young designers from Casa 93, a training program for rethinking tomorrow's fashion! These young talents will revisit the men's wardrobe of the 19th century from a bold, modern perspective.

  LESCOP Showcase
  French lyrics dipped in acid, danceable pop melodies and New Wave-influenced production: this is the unstoppable recipe of singer-songwriter Mathieu Lescop. With his third album, Rêve parti, discover the haunting magnetism that convinces us it's still possible to reinvent the dream in all its utopian force.

  Experience ArtetSens grand format
  This workshop offers a unique, immersive experience in the company of five artists. If you'd like to explore the temporary exhibition Caillebotte Peindre les hommes in a new way by letting your senses guide you, this experience is for you! Participative and creative activities present art in a sensitive way, through song, dance or drawing, for a visit full of meaning and emotion.

And, of course, you can admire the works of Gustave Caillebotte with the exhibition Caillebotte, peindre les hommes.

The Musée d'Orsay unveils "Gustave Caillebotte. Peindre les hommes" (Gustave Caillebotte: Painting Men), an original exhibition celebrating the 130th anniversary of the Parisian artist's death. The exhibition focuses on male figures, a favorite subject for Caillebotte, and runs from October 8, 2024 to January 19, 2025.
