Coronavirus: selling and drinking alcohol still prohibited past 10 p.m. in Paris again

As Paris and the entire France are back on lockdown, this Thursday November 5, the police headquarters release a decree updating the ban of selling and drinking alcohol past 10 p.m. Bars and restaurants must implement these measures starting Friday November 6, 2020.

As the French capital has been listed as “active virus’ circulation area”, Ville de Paris and the Agence régionale de Santé (Regional Health Agency) announce each arrondissement will be fitted with free testing centers for everyone, in addition to private laboratories.

Mandatory masks in Paris: the measure ultimately does not apply to cyclists and runners

Facemasks are mandatory in Paris starting Friday August 28, 2020 at 8 a.m. But does the measure also apply to cyclists and runners? After announcing that everybody was to yield to this obligation, excluding “users riding inside motor vehicles”, the police prefecture back-pedaled saying that ultimately cyclists and runners do not have to wear a mask to move around Paris and the inner suburbs of Paris.

This Friday August 14, 2020, the Paris prefecture announces new areas where facemasks are mandatory starting from this Saturday at 8 a.m. In Paris, and in many departments around, the mandatory covering from Monday August 10, at 8 a.m., is then extended to new areas including the Champs-Elysées. In Paris, facemasks are mandatory in some areas from Monday August 10, 2020. This Friday August 14, the Police prefecture said they extended the measure to new streets and neighborhoods. The Champs-Elysées, the Louvre area and the Batignolles neighborhood are concerned. The prefect also said that “if the epidemiologic situation was to worsen again, facemasks might be mandatory in the entire capital”.

Free cloth masks for Parisians: sign up now

Anne Hidalgo confirmed free cloth and washable facemasks will be given to each Parisian. Interviewed by LCI this May 5, Paris mayor says that these reusable masks will be available from May 11th in pharmacies. She said that "500,000 surgical msks will be avaialble this week given by arorndissement mayors to the most fragile people". Anne Hidalgo promised earlier in April that “two million cloth facemasks” will be “given” to Parisians in order to fight against the coronavirus epidemic.
