In 2020, the Parc des Expositions rooftop in Paris will host Europe's second biggest rooftop urban farm. Good news for Parisians who would like to rent a spot to grow their very own fruits and vegetables.

That’s excellent news for all those dreaming of an always greener Paris. In the spring 2020, a gigantic 14.000-sqm (!) urban farm will be set on the Parc des Expositions rooftop. By two years, it could become Europe's biggest rooftop farm. How cool is that!

All in all, 20 farmers will have the daily mission to take care of the 1000 seasonal fruits and vegetables of over 30 species. Without forgetting they will have to respect organic, sustainable and ecofriendly standards!

Please note that the productions of this huge urban farm will supply the restaurants of the Parc des Expositions (you can’t be more local!), as well as hotels, restaurants and inhabitants in the southern part of Paris and the suburbs. Guy Martin’s new gourmet restaurant at the Parc des Expositions is also said to enjoy it too.

Finally, and it’s only for Parisians who have a green thumb: know that you can also rent plots to grow your very own fruits and vegetables. Those plots are rectangular containers measuring 1 meter by 2, available for 320 euros a year. All in all 140 plots are availble on rent and half of them are said to be grown already!

In other, a great news for local cuisine lovers!
