Amid the coronavirus pandemic, and because we cannot visit the Musée Carnavalet in the flesh – especially as it was to reopen this spring 2020 after years of renovations – let’s make the best of the confinement to digitally visit it, from your home, thanks to an exclusive virtual tour.

Despite the coronavirus pandemic and even though we didn’t know yet when the Musée Carnavalet was to reopen – as it was closed for years for renovations – let’s make the best of the situation to digitally visit it, shall we? It’s what Muséosphère offers, a website belonging to Paris Musées, a public organization managing museums in Paris and offering 360° virtual tours as if you were there.

How does it work? It’s very simple: you simply have to go to Muséosphère and enjoy the tour. Start by browsing the entrance and four choices are available: discovering old Paris, how the city changed, dive into fashion and décor or enjoy ancient games and leisure. Salon Bleu, Salle Révolution, Salle Napoléon 1er or even Salle Louis-Philippe… As many museum rooms to discover with their legendary works of art.

Yet note this isn’t the museum renovated, but a tour before the renovation works. To discover the brand-new museum, you’ll have to wait until confinement is over and the reopening of the museum to enjoy the new tour created on the occasion. In the meantime, let’s enjoy the Musée Carnavalet from our sofa, shall we?
