It is said that in Montreuil, in the heart of the Gérard Rinçon neighborhood house, a large batch of bread and pizzas made on the spot by volunteers, families or curious people who came for the occasion takes place every month. It is the monthly batch of the association Salut les Co-pains, which offers a participative cooking workshop at a very low price, to spend a Sunday made of meetings, sharing and bread!
More than twelve years ago, a group of friends decided to create a bread oven that would become a place to create social links in the neighborhood. Some time later, with the help of the Montreuil City Council, the oven was installed. Since then, once a month, theassociation Salut les Co-pains proposes one Sunday a month from 10 am several workshops. First, you can learn about the maintenance and the lighting of a bread oven, then there is a workshop to make bread dough and another one for pizza dough in the morning. The time for the dough to rise, the pizza party starts around 12:30 pm, you just have to bring what you need to top your pizzas, the association provides the ingredients for the dough and the wood for the oven. Once the pizzas are cooked, tasted (and digested), it's time for the bread dough, which is usually baked at 3pm. At 4pm, the batch is ready!
For this more than convivial workshop, you just have to join the association! Count 10 € per family, roommate... for the whole year. In total, you can attend eleven bake-offs during the year (every month except August) and the participation is unlimited! The next date is at the end of February, Sunday 26 February 2023 from 10 am.
