With the World Environment Day, which takes place at the beginning of June this year, the Cité des Sciences organizes a whole weekend of animations around the environment, this Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 June 2023.

To mark the 51st World Environment Day on June 5, 2023, the Cité des Sciences is organizing a major weekend on the theme, on Saturday June 3 and Sunday June 4, 2023.

What's on the program? Workshops, mediation and exhibitions on the environment, to help you better understand what's at stake, the challenges we're facing today, and the climate changes we're seeing day by day. This weekend of events coincides with the opening of the Cité des Sciences' brand new permanent exhibition, Urgence Climatique, which is designed to be as educational as it is solution-focused.

On the program:

  • "Mangrove, a forest with its feet in the water": A workshop where you can explore the mangrove, its creatures and the importance of this natural environment.
  • "Soil, an unsuspected world": A unique opportunity to observe soil structure, minerals, plants and biodiversity up close.
  • "Weather & Climate": A mediation explaining the basics of weather and climate science.
  • "A false truth": A workshop to better understand the stakes of debates and argumentative biases.
  • "Anthropocene Forum": A discussion game to debate and reflect on today's major socio-environmental issues.

Other workshops focus on specific themes such as plastic pollution problems, the importance of water management, and setting up a debate on a water-related conflict situation in France.

Finally, several shows await you throughout the weekend, including "Les bonimenteurs - la pêche aux histoires", "Compagnie Caribou - Hyper conso show" and "La B.I.P. - Cie Annibal et ses éléphants", all offering a unique and entertaining approach to environmental issues.

All in all, the environmental weekend at the Cité des Sciences is a not-to-be-missed opportunity for those interested in the future of our planet. Come and find out more about sustainable development, plastic pollution and water issues.
