Family tip: a weekend of free activities for children at the Musée Carnavalet

On Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17, 2024, the Carnavalet museum opens its doors to families for a festive weekend of discovering the museum's collections through fun activities adapted for the little ones.

On the weekend of March 16 and 17, 2024, it's time for a family-friendly weekend of free activities at the Musée Carnavalet! A must-see museum dedicated to the history of Paris, it's the ideal cultural venue for discovering the past of this unique city, from Antiquity to the present day, via the French Revolution, centuries of monarchy, successive Empires... For the youngest visitors, the museum offers a program totally adapted to their age, with guided tours and numerous activities to help them discover the Musée Carnavalet for toddlers, even as young as a few months old.

What's on the program? Two festive days await visitors, with storytelling, theater, writing workshops, a show for toddlers under 5, and really fun activities for little ones from 5 or 8 years old. The good news is that, in addition tofree admission for the whole family to the museum (which is the case all the time if you wish to visit the permanent collections of the Musée Carnavalet), the activities on offer during this family weekend on March 16 and 17 are also free! So join us all weekend long to discover the museum with the whole family, on Saturday March 16 and Sunday March 17, 2024.

Le voyage de petit chat - show

Follow the adventures of Petit Chat as he leaves the countryside to discover Paris.

  • Who? Children aged 0 to 5, families
  • When? Sunday at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m.

Qui que quoi - storytelling for young audiences

Discover the curious stories hidden in the rooms of the Musée Carnavalet.

  • For ages 5 and up
  • When? Saturday and Sunday at 10.15am, 11.15am, 3pm and 4pm

Visites pioche - guided tour

Explore the collections of the Musée Carnavalet accompanied by a tour guide. Children choose the subject of their tour, for a visit like no other!

  • When? Saturday at 10.30am, 10.45am, 11.30am, 11.45am, 2.30pm, 3.30pm, 4.30pm, Sunday at 10.30am, 11.15am and 12pm.

Paris-ci, par-là - guided tour

An active visit to observe the works of art as a team. Older and younger visitors go in search of details hidden in the museum's collections.

  • When? Saturday and Sunday, 2.30 p.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday at 10.30 a.m., 11.15 a.m. and 12 p.m.

Writing workshops

After a discovery tour of the Paris of the Enlightenment, an animator accompanies you in the creation of a Parisian story.

  • When? Sundays at 2.0pm and 3.30pm

Theater

  • When ? Saturday from 3:30 pm to 5 pm, Sunday at 3:15 pm, 4:15 pm and 5:15 pm

Playful discovery of the collections - mediation
