After the Mini-Party, traditionally organized every winter vacation, the Centre Georges Pompidou is offering a new family weekend: so, the date is set for Saturday, October 26 and Sunday, October 27, 2024 for a weekend as festive as it is creative, in one of the most important cultural venues in all of Paris.
For two days, parents and children can enjoy - and please, as many as they like - visits, special tours, workshops, encounters with artists and other fun activities based around modern and contemporary art. The good news is that all activities are free and open to all.
Workshop and performance with a duo of artists on paper pop-ups, by illustrator Gérard Lo Monaco
Station 0.2 "Dans la forêt" by Marion Barraud
Illustrator and cartoonist Marion Barraud has designed a plant landscape for toddlers, like a strange forest, soft and welcoming. Walking on a carpet of leaves, hiding in a tree house, gathering plants - the artist invites children and parents to plunge into the discovery of a world of materials and sounds. This artistic installation offers babies a cocoon of nature, a moment suspended in Marion Barraud's drawn universe.
Ceci n'est pas un sablé breton" workshop by Hopla Studio
Inspired by André Masson's dripping technique - in which glue-coated canvases were sprayed with sand, which adhered to the surface - young and old are invited to create a miniature edible work using Breton shortbread, letting their imaginations run wild as they choose the colors, transforming the cookies into sand, or adding a delicious coulis as a finishing touch.
Morphing" show by Antonin Leymarie
Morphing, a veritable dancefloor for young and old alike, takes up the challenge of appealing to the very young by stretching out African and Caribbean sounds in an acoustic and hyper-dynamic mix.
